Annual General Meeting Kicks-off 2008

 On January 10, the Bombers held the annual general meeting (AGM) to discuss club business, and present the 2008 Club operating plan.  The event was well attended by fifty plus members and much was discussed. 

Shortly after the meeting began, officers were elected.  Brian Dix, Dan Ward, Scott Lay, and Scott Giljum will continue on in their roles of President, Vice President of Operations, Treasurer, and Secretary, respectively.  John McGuire joins the committee as the new Vice President of Fundraising with designs to create an umbrella sponsorship structure and find new and exciting ways to give back to sponsors. 

Team finances, the upcoming spring schedule and events, player expectations, and fundraising opportunities were next discussed.  In an attempt to give players a chance to reduce their travel costs and generate revenue for the club, the Bombers will create a team program for 2008.  Every dollar sold on program advertising will be split in half between the club and the player responsible for obtaining it.  All attendees were excited about the prospect with John McGuire, Steve Bosse, Jon Ford, and Gio Lafata volunteering to form the advertising sales team.
