Much Accomplished During AGM

The Bombers Executive Committee was working overtime in preparation for the Club's 2005 Annual General Meeting, which was held January 15th at Desmet High School. A combination of forty active players and alumni attended this very important meeting.

The AGM gives the Club membership the opportunity to voice opinions, present ideas, and vote on officers and other proposals made by the Executive Committee. Agenda items included; a brief recap of 2004 happenings, a Club financial review, presenting and voting on bylaw amendments, nomination and election of 2005 Club officers, a vote on team awards, fundraising plans, and presenting the spring season practice, match/travel, and events plan.

The Executive Committee is always looking for ways to improve the way the club operates and used this years meeting to present many amendments to the Club's Constitution and Bylaw's. The Bomber Bylaw's had not been updated in nearly twenty years. The EC felt the proposed amendments were needed to better handle the realities of managing the Club today.

The proposed Bylaw amendments presented included the following, and were all approved:

1. Re-defining membership. Active, Active-Collegiate, and Alumni.
2. The addition of a fifth EC position. V.P. Fundraising
3. Move the "voting procedures" explanation from the membership section, to the meetings and notices section.
4. Defining EC and treasurer spending limits. The new limit $5000, excluding travel costs.
5. Defining and the addition of "removal from an appointed position."
6. Re-define appointed position duties and the addition of "alumni coordinator."
7. Changing the "Most Improved Player" award to, "The Daniel "Young Dan" Hartwig Award presented to the Most Improved Player"

Match Secretary - Steve Bosse

Alumni Coordinator - John Kyle
