March 29, 2008 - St. Louis, MO
PAC made the most of their opportunities and held on at the end to defeat the St. Louis Bombers 20-13 at Sportport Stadium in Maryland Heights, MO in RSL Week 2 action. PAC was paced by flanker Mark Crick, who led the charge with two tries. PAC, playing with the wind at their backs in the first half, opened the scoring at the 15 minute mark when flyhalf Julius Togamau touched down, started by a blindside break from halfback Steve Sablan. Crick scored his first try for PAC off of some solid forward play in the phases to push PAC up 10-0 at the 25 minute mark. St. Louis battled hard into the wind and made several assaults deep in PAC's end, but had nothing to show for it. Bomber fullback Conail Boyd made a break from deep in his own end, then fed center Simon Moate, who then fed streaking center TJ Ebner for a length of the pitch try to draw the score to 10-5 in favor of PAC at halftime. St. Louis came out of the locker rooms at halftime aiming to pin PAC with the foot to take advantage of the wind at their backs. But an over-cooked kick resulted in a PAC scrum back in Bomber territory and a PAC try from lock Geoff Eddy after several phases. St. Louis responded with a Conail Boyd penalty kick from near midfield to bring the score to 15-8 in PAC's favor with 15 minutes to play. PAC's Mark Crick struck again as PAC drove a short lineout into the corner, and his second try of the night pushed his team up 20-8. The Bombers camped out in PAC's end for the remainder of the match. Captain and lock Hayden Mexted crashed over for a late St. Louis try, but it wasn't enough as PAC held on for the 20-13 win.
