Eighteen consecutive hours of rainfall resulted in a greasy ball, a slow track, and numerous errors from both sides. But it was Philly that took better advantage of their opportunities to nab their first RSL victory of the season thanks to strong performances from fullback Oshwell Damons and #8 Turei Maraki. St. Louis opened the scoring after constant pressure on the Philly line. Flanker Shawn Tegethoff plowed over to put the Bombers up 5-0 early. Philly replied with tries from Damons at 24 minutes and replacement prop Fred Koniecki at 30 minutes to take a 10-5 lead. Bomber's hooker Pat Hess scored from a lineout drive to knot the scores at 10-10 at the break. Philly capitalized on a couple Bomber miscues to regain the lead at the 42 minute mark when #8 Turei Maraki scampered in after another punishing run. Flyhalf Mike Graham's conversion put Philly up 17-10. Next, Philly fullback Damons supported nicely for a breakaway try and 24-10 lead at the 47 minute mark. Speedy St. Louis wing TJ Ebner raced wide for the Bomber's third try of the match at 72 minutes, but it was not enough as a couple of late Mike Graham penalty kicks brought the final score to 30-15 in favor of Philly.
