2016 to 2017

Outdoor practice has begun for the spring season but the boys never really stopped training during the winter break.

Practice

Many of the players were hard at work building their strength at Max Effort Strength & Conditioning twice a week and then an indoor training session at the school gym.

The Bombers have another big 2nd half of the season coming up with the first match on March 4th. To quickly recap the end of the 1st half the DII finished 3-0 in league play with a huge win over the GOATS 42-15 in Omaha, while the DIII finished 2-2 in league play after a tough loss to the Hornet, 7-10.

Schedule

The Bombers held a few events during the break such as the annual Bomber’s Survival Weekend and a paintball session at Gateway Paintball, both great team bonding events. Mizzou was in town to play Wash-U in their first match of the year followed by a friendly match between the Bomber’s development side and Mizzou’s B-side. Both teams were able to get their new players into a match before the session begins while some of the veterans got a run in as well, warming up their shoulders.

This upcoming weekend, February 25th, is the annual Mardi Gras Parade in Soulard and the Bomber’s will be hosting a tent once again.

The tent will be at the same location as last year, 6th & Chouteau, right at the start of the parade. We will be serving all day starting at 9am. This is always a great event for not only Soulard but also for the club as part of the sales go back to the club to help cover gear, travel, and other costs. It’s also a great opportunity to hang out with the players and get to know the club and the sport we play. We hope you make your first stop at the Bomber’s tent.

Mardi Gras Event

We’ve also been working on a new redesigned St. Louis Bombers website with a lot more features than the previous one. One of the big features will be the player profile page. Each player will have their bio page with position and game stats. There will also be better up-to-date standings for both division with an integration with USA Rugby Stats. We’re also working to give our sponsors the best exposure to show our appreciation for everything they do helping the club out. We have multiple sponsor tiers to fit everyone needs. We will be providing that information shortly but you can contact fundraising@stlouisbombers.com for any questions you may have.

We look forward to seeing everyone out on the pitch every Saturday. Make sure to check back on the website and our Facebook page for all the updates.
