Boots Laced Up

After coming of a strong first year back at the DI level the St. Louis Bombers are looking to improve in year two.

Hosting Palmer rugby at the new Central Fields in Forest Park the St. Louis Bombers offence struggled to find good momentum keeping ball in hand. The defense for both sides was sound and many time Palmer had the opportunity on the try line but the wall of Bombers kept Palmer out.

It wasn’t until the 25th minute mark that Palmer would be first on the board with a try and lead the Bombers 10-0 at half.

At the final whistle Palmer would put up another 20 points and defeat the Bombers 30-7 with the only try for the Bombers by Colin Fitzhenry.

Looking to rebound the Bombers traveled to Kansas City to take on the KC Blues in their first D1 league & DIII match of the season.

Unfortunately it was a rough day for the Bombers as KC would take both matches; 72-3 in the DI match 42-29 in the DIII match.

The boys will get back to work as the next match is up in Minneapolis against Metropolis on Saturday, September 14th
