Rugby In Full Swing!

After our most successful and largest Bomber Golf Tournament and our 7s team finishing 4th at Nationals as a 16th seed, 15’s have returned fast and strong.

The Bomber’s D1 side started off with a big win over Palmer, putting up 55 unanswered points and the D3 side defeating the Bellville Rowdies 22-7 in a friendly match.

The next 6 matches, the boys would face a tough KC Blues, Wisconsin, Rowdies, Metropolis, Milwaukee, and The Hornets.

The D1 side would come up short against KC falling 26-17 but would rebound the following week with a win over Wisconsin 34-22. In the first D3 League match the Bombers would just edge past the Rowdies 35-34.

Back on the road for the next two matches the Bombers would lose a very close match against Metropolis 17-15 but would secure a bonus point with a 52-38 win over Milwaukee.

In their second league match the D3 side would face off against The Hornets in Forest Park. A lot of new young faces stepped up leading the Bombers onto a 34-22 victory!

In a double header away weekend the D1 would travel up to Iowa to face Palmer for a second time and the D3 side to Fairmount against The Mercenaries. Both sides would return home with impressive victories. The Bomber would receive another bonus point against Palmer with a 40-19 while the D3 would shutout the Mercenaries with an amazing 88-0 win!

The next home match will be against the KC Blues which will be a HUGE match as both teams. We will pass along more info as it comes available.

There’s been a lot of rugby in last couple of weeks with not only games but also couple Bombers being drafted into the MLR and a few representing in the Premier Rugby 7s!

Have to give a HUGE SHOUT OUT to the Belleville Rowdies for opening their home field up to the Bombers as our temporary home field. Normally Forest Park would be the Bomber home field but unfortunately there have been many conflicting events at the rugby fields and the Park’s Department keeps denying use. We hoped that the Bomber Rugby Park would’ve been available for use this year but there are still ongoing discussion with the City of Sunset Hills after 100% approval.

Keep checking back for updates and upcoming events. We’re still collecting donations for the the Bomber Rugby Park and you can find more information here: https://www.stlouisbombers.com/bombers-rugby-park/
